The IES Sorts de la Mar de Dénia receives Erasmus+ students

From September 8 to 15, the IES Sorts de la Mar received a visit for the completion of the mobility activities of our Mediterranean partners of the Erasmus + Mediterranean Marine Ecosystems Project of Rijeka (Croàcia) and Palermo (Italy). A week where the comparison activities of the various ecosystems that we have in these three Mediterranean cities ended.

The participating students carried out diving activities to observe the flora and fauna, water quality analysis, plankton analysis, the dunes and of course the marine posidonia.

They also visited the oceanographic center of the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències de València and took a dramatized route through Dénia to learn about the history of the city.

Experts such as Miguel Rodilla from the Department of Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering within the research institute for the integrated management of coastal zones of the Universitat Politècnica de València and the exhibitions provided by the Alicante Provincial Council have collaborated in this project in the training of teachers. of the *POSIMED projects of the Institute of Coastal Ecology.

Thanks to the Erasmus programs, these experiences are a reality that allows our students to improve their abilities, skills and abilities, to grow as people and to become tolerant, supportive and respectful citizens of the XNUMXst century who build a more just world. free and sustainable.

On the other hand, the week of September 26 to 29 we celebrated Language Week with several activities organized by the linguistic departments and the vice-directorate of the institute.

Exhibitions have been held such as:

  • Interactive exhibition «A sea of ​​alphabets» where the students, as a game, have been able to associate each alphabet with its name, exhibition of newspapers written in different languages ​​"Languages ​​to the press."
  • “Where am I from?” to find the country of origin.
  • Exhibition «Linguistic curiosities», the activity of the Peer Tutoring program of the welcome language tree at the institute and the language passport where students from the center from several countries teach the rest of the students linguistic curiosities of their native language.
