Last Monday, March 6, the IES Sorts de la Mar in Dénia celebrated Women's Week with a meeting that brought together 2nd year high school students and well-known writers from the region, Roser Cabrera, Elvira Cambrils and Pepa Guardiola. The activity, organized by the French department and the vice-director of the center, sought to value the trajectory of these authors and their role in the feminist claim, since the time of the Franco dictatorship.
During the gathering, members of the Navy women's network joined the conversation to underline the importance of continuing to fight for real equality between men and women in all spheres of society.
In addition to this activity, the IES Sorts de la Mar de Dénia has carried out other initiatives within the framework of the commemoration of Women's Week, such as the creation of a mural by the Tutoria Entre Iguas program, in collaboration with the plastic department and the student Marc Jorro of 4th of ESO, an exhibition of Valencian writers by the students of 1st of baccalaureate, and a recital of the poem Vuit de març by Maria Mercè Marçal Serra.
