The Hospital of Dénia hosts a new Cardio-Hematological team

Dénia Hospital launches a new Cardio-Hematological work team for the multidisciplinary approach to cardiac toxicities that may be derived from certain types of treatments, such as oncological ones.

It is a cross-sectional project in which hematologists and cardiologists participate. The new working group of the Department of Health of Dénia is the result of collaboration between the services of Cardiology and Hematology. These two services will progressively adhere to all those who handle drugs with a potential cardiotoxic effect.

According to Dr. Herminio Morillas, cardiologist responsible for the process and the head of Hematology of the Department of Health, Andrea Varzaaru, "Advances in the treatment of cancer have been enormous during the last decades. The improvement in the early detection of neoplasms and therapeutic novelties have led to a significant and progressive reduction in patient mortality.
