El Hospital de Dénia launches a new Cardio-Hematology work team for the multidisciplinary approach to cardiac toxicities that may be derived from certain types of treatments, such as oncology.
It is a cross-sectional project in which hematologists and cardiologists participate. The new working group of the Department of Health of Dénia is the result of collaboration between the services of Cardiology and Hematology. These two services will progressively adhere to all those who handle drugs with a potential cardiotoxic effect.
According to Dr. Herminio Morillas, cardiologist responsible for the process and the head of Hematology of the Department of Health, Andrea Varzaaru, "Advances in the treatment of cancer have been enormous during the last decades.
