Employment in the nautical sector grows an 5% above the annual average

The nautical sector has a high demand for trained professionals. According to the data of the National Association of Nautical Companies (ANEN), in Spain, a leading country in tourism, with more kilometers of coastline in Europe and good weather, "There is an opportunity to generate employment and economic growth, improving infrastructure, investing in training and promoting entrepreneurship in the recreational nautical sector. In recent years, employment in the sector has grown at a rate of 5% above the annual average ".

This was explained by Carlos Sanlorenzo, Secretary General of ANEN, during the talk given at the XII Dénia Boat Show. Sanlorenzo recalled that in the last year the number of newly created nautical companies, startups is growing, which shows the interest that this sector awakens.

Sanlorenzo commented that "There is a high demand for trained professionals and that the social responsibility of the nautical sector seeks, through a system of professional training, to address some of the main problems of Spanish society, such as the high rate of youth unemployment and school dropout".

During this third day the talk was also given by the National Association of Professional Employers (ANPPER). His representative, Javier Saldaña, has explained that the crafts related to the sea, directly or indirectly, are in the shipyards (manufacture of boats and ships), services (painting, electricians, carpenters, spare parts, mechanics, etc.), ports and nautical clubs, nautical products stores, insurance companies, inspectors or crews (skippers or sailors).

Nautical activities continue

Throughout the morning the Marina de Dénia Nautical Activities Center has been carrying out paddle surf baptisms, which will continue this afternoon. As well as the visits to the Nao Victoria and the catamaran trips to the Cabo de San Antonio Marine Reserve.

Today the prizes have also been given to the schools that have participated in the theatrical contest. The students of the Carmelitas and Raquel Payá schools will be able to enjoy an excursion in paddle surfing with the Marina de Dénia Nautical Activities Center and the Montgó a visit to the Nao Victoria. The children of Raquel Payá and the Spanish Paralympic sailor have coincided at the Dénia Boat Show and have been photographed together to show that disability does not prevent them from achieving dreams.

Tomorrow Saturday at 11 hours will be the release of the turtle and the 12: 15 hours, the Spanish navigator Alex Pella, will offer a talk about his latest experiences.
