Employment in the nautical sector grows an 5% above the annual average

The nautical sector has a high demand for trained professionals. According to the data of the National Association of Nautical Companies (ANEN), in Spain, a leading country in tourism, with more kilometers of coastline in Europe and good weather, "There is an opportunity to generate employment and economic growth, improving infrastructure, investing in training and promoting entrepreneurship in the recreational nautical sector. In recent years, employment in the sector has grown at a rate of 5% above the annual average ".

This was explained by Carlos Sanlorenzo, Secretary General of ANEN, during the talk given at the XII Boat Show Denia. Sanlorenzo recalled that in the last year the number of newly created nautical companies, startups is growing, which shows the interest that this sector awakens.

Sanlorenzo commented that "There is a high demand for trained professionals and that the social responsibility of the nautical sector seeks, through a system of professional training, to address some of the main problems of Spanish society, such as the high rate of youth unemployment and school dropout".

Nautical activities continue
