International Contest already has finalists Gamba Roja

Barcelona, ​​Toledo, Jaén, Tenerife, Madrid, Pontevedra, Alzira and of course Dénia will be represented next week at the I International Competition of Creative Cuisine Red Gamba de Dénia to be held on Tuesday at the Mercat Municipal.

The Councilor for Tourism, Pepa Font, the director of the event, Rafa Soler, and the local restaurateur and member of the jury Diego Mena yesterday announced the names of the chefs and restaurants they will represent in what promises to be an event international culinary.

After more than four hours of deliberation, and pre-registered between 34 proposals, the jury decided that the eight chefs that next March 6 prepare their proposals directly are:

Germán Espinosa Urquiza, the restaurant Vermell Sant Cugat del Vallés (Barcelona)
José Miguel Moreno Ruiz, the Tierra restaurant Valdepalacios Hotel Torrico (Toledo)
Antonio Rubio Moreno, the Meson Campero Linares (Jaen)
Almenara Inigo Lopez, Monkey Group, in the beach of the Americas, Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Jose Manuel Lopez Iglesias, the Peix i Brases Restaurant Denia
Chema Soler Pastro, the Chema Gastrocroquetería Madrid
Iván Méndez, the Spa MondarizIn Pontevedra
Ivan and Toni López, the Restaurant Camí Vell of Alzira.

All of them will have 3 hours to prepare their dishes. The contest will begin at 9 in the morning with the drawing of the tables, and at 12:30 they will begin to place the tables in numerical order and with a time of 5 minutes each. The jury will have one hour to deliberate and will be chaired by the chef Quique Dacosta and also made up of Cuchita Lluch, president of the Valencian Community Academy of Gastronomy; Javier Antoja, journalist and director of the gastronomic magazine Apicius; José Carlos Capel, food critic and director of Madrid Fusión, and Julia Pérez Lozano, food journalist.

The three winners will receive a sculpture by Toni Marí sculptor representing the protagonist of this event: the red shrimp from Denia.

This event is part of the ambitious project which is carrying out the Department of Tourism to Dénia is declared by UNESCO City of Gastronomy.
