Walker who travels the world to save the planet stops in Dénia

November 02 from 2016 - 09: 09

During the bridge of All Saints Dénia has received endless visitors and tourists who have chosen our city to spend a few days of rest and disconnection. But we have also received a visit that is out of this "normal" and that aims to raise awareness about the need to care for the planet.

Martin Hutchinson is an English retired firefighter in 2009 began touring the world on foot to raise awareness about ecology. After 34.000 kilometers walk by Latin American countries, their journey has come to Europe to move their green message to citizens, but this time from a bicycle. Martin left England and visited France, Italy and Portugal, and these days is touring Spain. On Monday his bike ended up in Dénia, where he came in order to see the state of the beaches and converse with citizens and visitors about the importance of protecting the environment.

It states that the worst enemy of our beaches is plastic, a real danger to fish and marine flora. Walker notes that in countries like India are re-using plastic to make roads, giving a utility to waste more than 5.000 kilometers of asphalt roads with plastic.

The work of Martin Hutchinson is complemented with the help of the internet. Through his Youtube channel he explains the ecological disasters that haunt us, and his message has also reached schools and universities, where he has given environmental talks.

Martin's journey continues now to the south, and hope you ahead nine years of tour of the rest of Europe, India, some Arab countries, Australia and New Zealand, where he hopes to finish this adventure
