The Ecological Transition Department has proceeded to clean 10 private lots by subsidiary execution, after the owners failed to comply with the obligations of keeping them in adequate conditions of safety, health and public decoration. The costs of the works will be charged to the owners, as established by the municipal ordinance regulating discharges and conservation of lots and plots.

The city council has hired a company to carry out the work, with an overall cost of 10.527 euros. The cleaning and conditioning of the plots began at the end of December and concluded a few days ago.

The works have mainly consisted of clearing vegetation and cleaning the sites to avoid the risk of fire and unsanitary conditions. The undergrowth has also been trimmed on the plot of the Dénia-Xàbia road that prevented pedestrians from walking on the sidewalk and, in addition, made visibility difficult. In Riu Altaret street, where there is a block of uninhabited apartments, the action consisted of covering an abandoned swimming pool with dirt that was a source of mosquitoes.
