The City Council cleans a dozen lots to avoid fire risk, charging the expenses to their owners

January 27 from 2021 - 10: 46

The Ecological Transition Department has proceeded to clean 10 private lots by subsidiary execution, after the owners failed to comply with the obligations of keeping them in adequate conditions of safety, health and public decoration. The costs of the works will be charged to the owners, as established by the municipal ordinance regulating discharges and conservation of lots and plots.

The city council has hired a company to carry out the work, with an overall cost of 10.527 euros. The cleaning and conditioning of the plots began at the end of December and concluded a few days ago.

The works have mainly consisted of clearing vegetation and cleaning the sites to avoid the risk of fire and unsanitary conditions. Weeds have also been trimmed on the plot of the Dénia-Xàbia that prevented pedestrians from being able to walk on the sidewalk and, in addition, made visibility difficult. In Riu Altaret Street, where there is a block of uninhabited apartments, the action consisted of covering an abandoned swimming pool with dirt that was a source of mosquitoes.

It seems to me very good that the City Council strives to clear the vegetation and clean the sites to avoid the risk of fire and unhealthy conditions, in this case of individuals, but why not practice with the example and does the same with municipal property ??? See plot in Carrer la Fragata as an example!

The lot hasn't been cleaned this summer yet, the neighbors are fed up with mosquitoes and vegetation. The City Hall or the environment please clean it up, we can't take it anymore. Then they look for people to vote for what they do for Denia, it's fine, a shame.

Each owner is responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of their properties. Let's see if they pay for it or get it in this way that we pay it, together. The issue of fines, how is it going? Have they also been fined or not?
