The council welcomes the presentation of the book on the local police in Dénia

Last Thursday was presented the book History of the Local Police of Dénia: 1873-2013. A snapshot of the Local Police of Spain, Jose Martinez Espasa, chief quartermaster chief of the local police in Denia.

The event took place in the Plenary Hall of the town hall and together with the author, the mayor, Ana Kringe, the councilor for Citizen Security, Javier Ygarza, the senior magistrate of the judicial party of Dénia, Javier Reyes and the captain director participated General of Marina de Dénia, Gabriel Martínez.

To write this book, José Martínez Espasa (Xàbia, 1978), graduated in Law and in Criminology by profession, has changed his legal and criminological facet to enter his own police force and, although it has been the job that has given him the most time and dedication demanded, it has also been the most gratifying since "an appointment with history is fulfilled and each person and the institution are put in the place they deserve", in the words of Martínez Espasa.

Jose Martinez Espasa life

Jose Martinez Espasa was incorporated into 2001 as agent to the local police in his hometown, Xàbia, 2007 and began directing the local police in Dénia, one of the youngest Chiefs of Police of Valencia and Spain.

He has written a book on the investigation of misdemeanors published in 2006 the Generalitat Valenciana and for which he won the First Prize for Police Studies Association of Chiefs of Police Local de Alicante (AJPLA).

In 2011 he collaborated with the chapter "Drugs and Traffic Safety" in the Manual to Combat Drugs published by Aranzadi and coordinated by Lieutenant Colonel of the Civil Guard Nicolas Marchal Escalona.

In addition to security articles he has taught numerous courses, lectures and conferences on matters related to the local police, and actively participates in the provincial Association of Chiefs (AJPLA) and National (Unijepol).
