Starting next January, the Health Center of Joan Fuster Avenue will become the blood donation point of the Alicante Transfusion Center on a monthly basis. This was announced yesterday by the Councilor for Health of the Ajuntament de Dénia, Marcela Server, as part of the presentation of the calendar of collections in Dénia for 2013.
With this new headquarters, from 2013 Dénia will expand blood donation points (Red Cross, Public Health Center and, now, the ambulatory) as well as the calendar of collections, carrying out two monthly ones: one fixed in the Joan Fuster ambulatory and another, alternatively, in the Red Cross and in the Public Health Center in Plaça Jaume I.
This calendar of donations will be complemented with the celebration of the V Marathon solidarity of blood donation, organized by the Ajuntament de Dénia with the collaboration of the Center of Transfusion of Alicante, scheduled for the 13 of April in the Social Center.
The medical deputy director of the Center of Transfusion of Alicante has affirmed that Dénia "is a model locality, that has collaborated to the maximum to try that in 2013 we have a calendar of collections the amplest possible". And is that the demand for blood "continues to increase." According to the data you have provided, in 2012 61.000 blood units have been transfused.
