Two young people are arrested in Dénia for stabbing another in a fight

January 17 from 2024 - 10: 00

National Police agents have arrested two men in Dénia for stabbing a third, a friend of both. It all came because the perpetrators thought that the victim had stolen 300 euros from them. Finally, it was the perpetrators who stole 70 euros from the injured man.

Patrols from the Citizen Security Brigade of the Dénia Police Station were requested at dawn at a home due to a possible fight. When they arrived at the place they found a singular “scene”, seeing a lot of blood in the hallway of the house, in the bathroom, in the kitchen and in some of the rooms.

The blood was from a 29-year-old Moroccan young man who was half naked with a towel on, and who had received a knife puncture in his left side at the level of his navel. He was accompanied by two other young people who were helping him and who at first did not seem to know much about what happened. One of these
Young was the owner of the house.

First actions at the scene

The National Police patrol began rapid attention to the injured man, taking necessary measures to protect those present, requesting the presence of an ambulance with a medical doctor and plugging the bleeding wound that the man had in his abdomen. Within the first statements that the victim reported, very little information could be acquired since she was dazed. Her testimony was vague and had certain “gaps” that did not allow the agents to understand what had happened. However, she was able to give signs of the instrument that had been used to attack her.

In a first investigative inspection, the National Police was able to recover the knife that was used to commit the crime, which measured approximately 12 centimeters. An exhaustive follow-up was also carried out on the health of the victim, who was transferred to the hospital with a serious prognosis, and underwent emergency surgery to determine the extent of the injuries she had. She was subsequently admitted to the hospital's ICU until her health situation stabilized.

Action of the investigative teams of the National Police

The Judicial Police Brigade of the Denia National Police Station took charge of the investigation. Police officers went to the hospital to hear the victim's statement.

In his statements he indicated that days ago, a friend of his and owner of the house where the events occurred, had a medical problem and had to be treated urgently. His friend left him his belongings so he could keep them and return them to her when he left the hospital. When he returned his belongings, his friend blamed him for the theft of 300 euros that should have been in his wallet and were no longer there. For this reason, they began a rather strong argument, where he was initially intimidated until they took 70 euros that the victim was carrying in a bag.

The argument increased in intensity until they attacked each other. Because the victim's defense seemed to be more effective than that of the perpetrator of the “stab,” a third man took part in the fight, also assaulting the victim.

Investigation efforts with successful results

The agents of the National Police of the Judicial Police carried out the appropriate procedures and were able to discover that the perpetrators were the two men who accompanied the victim when the patrol intervened in the first instance at the home.

The detainees attacked the victim and at one point, one of them “stabbed” him with a knife. When the two attackers saw how the situation had ended and out of fear that the victim could lose his life, they decided to call the police.

The National Police arrested these two young people for the crimes of robbery with violence and attempted homicide. He also located a witness who was at the home at the time of the events but who fled when the brawl began, who was heard in a statement under investigation.

The young people arrested were 22 and 25 years old, one of them was Spanish and the other Romanian. The perpetrator of the stabbing had a different history of violent acts, and was considered by National Police officers to be a potentially dangerous man.

The proceedings were brought to the attention of the Court of Investigation of the Guard of the town of Dénia, and the two detainees were brought to judicial custody. Later one of them was admitted to prison.
