Dénia is now officially home to the University of Alicante

The Dénia City Council and the University of Alicante have signed this Monday morning the agreement by which the capital of the Marina Alta it becomes a university headquarters, an agreement that was approved unanimously in the plenary session of the municipal Corporation on December 22, 2015.

The Mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, in the company of the Councilor for Education, Rafa Carrió, has signed the agreement with the rector of the University, Manuel Palomar, through which Dénia a is a university city. According to the agreement, Dénia will give a municipal location to the University so that the new academic coordinator of the Dénia university headquarters, Pascual Garrido, will start working.

The campus of Dénia will address the organization, programming and management of academic, cultural and social activities and those covered by its status as belonging to the university extension, while it will be part of the Network of Seus Universitàries University Alicante within the framework of coordination of the Network of Seus of the Marina Alta.

Although the coordinator will begin working on activities in a few weeks, the mayor of Denia has reported that the headquarters will start operating at full capacity since September, with the arrival of the new course.

Pascual Garrido, a native of Ondara, has a PhD in Economics and Business and Professor in the Department of Financial Economics and Accounting from the University of Alicante.
