Dénia is already the seventh Valencian city with the worst data of new coronavirus infections

August 18 from 2020 - 11: 03

The coronavirus is hitting the capital hard Marina Alta. Despite the fact that the Dénia Health Department enjoyed relatively positive figures during the first semester, being among the areas with the lowest incidence of COVID-19 in the Valencian Community, in recent weeks it has been facing a large wave of infections .

The Ministry of Health has already confirmed 4 outbreaks in Dénia, from both meetings and nightlife. However, the concern has come with the publication of the new infection data in the last weekend, where the municipality has added 26 new positives in PCR tests.

This leaves the city in a very worrying situation, being the seventh municipality that has added the most new cases in the last 2 weeks, only behind València, Alacant, Castelló de la Plana, Torrent, Burjassot and Elx. In these last 14 days, Dénia, which until then had only counted 121 positives, has added 64 new ones, leaving a total of 185 infections.

The cumulative incidence of the last 2 weeks is 151 cases per 78 inhabitants. If it continues like this, in a few days Dénia will have doubled its number of infections since the state of alarm ended.

However, the positive part is that the number of deaths remains without adding any new cases since April.

151 cases per 100.000 inhabitants (does that mean 100.000 were analyzed?), That is, 0,15%. Of these, about 80% have none or mild symptoms, so they are not sick. So about 99,97% of the 100.000 (100% minus 0,03%) have nothing, other than fear. Why doesn't it say that, denia.com?

So the bottom line is that if you don't breathe and don't move, you're going to lead a healthy and happy life.

And, most importantly, we don't just want to know how many PCR positives there are, but how many tests were done. Give us a percentage please, not these absolute numbers that are useless. Do your job, journalist.

a positive PCR test says nothing at all. This test cannot measure Covic 19 at all.

It could also be that you had a simple cold 7 or 8 months ago.

Seeing the behavior of a large part of the people on the beaches and in the bottle in them, it is not surprising that the number of infections continues to increase. We have gone from confinement to total freedom, without rules. Walking and seeing.
