Mayor, Vicent Grimalt, The deputy mayor, Rafa Carrió, with the Education councillors, Melani Ivars and of Territory, Maria Josep Ripoll, met this morning in Valencia with the regional secretary of Education, Daniel McEvoy, the regional secretary of Universities, Esther Gómez and the general director of Universities, José Antonio Pérez Juan, to address the Conselleria's investments in educational infrastructure in Dénia .
One of the topics put on the table has been the Edificant program for the construction, renovation and improvement of the educational centers of the Generalitat. Dénia has 10 delegated actions within the framework of the program, of which 7 have been completed. The regional secretary of Education has congratulated the municipal representatives "for that diligence in being able to complete all those actions," points out the Territory councilor, Maria Josep. Ripoll.
To finalize two of those that remain pending - the expansion of the IES Maria Ibars and the construction of new facilities for the Raquel Payá special education school -, municipal representatives have requested an upward modification of the budget allocation initially allocated to these actions. On the part of the Department, a commitment has emerged to study the needs expressed and the way to be able to have this larger budget.
Regarding the Pare Pere de Jesús Pobre early childhood and primary education center, the third pending project is in the bidding phase and about to be awarded, therefore, the works could be carried out during the year 2025, as indicated by Ripoll.
Regarding the rehabilitation of the Torrecremada house, which will be the future university campus of Dénia, you have been informed that a budgetary annuity has been enabled for 2024 with the objective that the works can be completed by November 2024.
In October 2021, the Dénia City Council awarded the rehabilitation works of the Torrecremada house to the UTE Patrimony Inteligente, SL - Lirola Ingeniería y Obras, SL, for an amount of 2.379.485 euros, co-financed by the Department of Universities (1,2 .XNUMX million euros) and the Dénia City Council (the rest).
The meeting also discussed other educational infrastructure projects planned in the city - the Gente de Mar Integrated Center, the future conservatory and interventions in other centers, such as the Lebeche public school -, with the two parties agreeing to jointly study each one to continue with the procedures.
