Dénia proposes a new beach to qualify for the Blue Flag next year

May 29 from 2022 - 07: 00

Dénia's beaches are today, undeniably, its greatest tourist attraction. There are many more, and even better ones, but our coastline is still the most persecuted. That is why, with a view to the summer season, it is worth boasting of recognitions, and, in terms of beaches, there is none more important than the Blue Flag.

Another year, Dénia has revalidated its Blue Flags, which will fly again on the beaches of Les Bovetes, Les Deveses, Les Marines, Marineta Cassiana, Els Molins and Punta del Raset. There are six in total, and the city is among the municipalities that have the most beaches with the distinction in the entire country.

Now, they are not enough. Or that is what the City Council seems to think, since, during the press conference in which they presented the new beach season, announced that they were working to opt for a seventh Blue Flag.

The beach with which Dénia will opt for a new badge will be l'Almadrava, in the area known as Costa de la Calma. To do this, they will adapt it this summer to the demands of the Blue Flags evaluation commission, which the candidates to hold them during next summer will study during those months. However, it will not be until May 2023 when we will know if an effect has arisen and the municipality will be granted its seventh Blue Flag.
