While presented a ambitious campaign on the use of bicycles in the city, the Minister of Industry, Máximo Buch, confirmed that "The subsidy granted to the Dénia City Council has been revoked as no payment has been made in this regard". It is a subsidy of 400.000 euros from the Valencian Energy Agency to expand the bicycle rental system.
Así lo denunciaba Pep Marí, concejal socialista, cuyo partido ya denunció en febrero que la subvención se podía perder. Según Marí, «ni se ha ampliado el servicio de bicicletas, las plataformas no motorizadas son un desastre y Dénia carece de normativa de tráfico para las ciclo calles».
Jordi Serra, deputy in Les Corts, for his part, demanded that the mayor purge political responsibilities for the loss of this subsidy.
