While presented a ambitious campaign on the use of bicycles in the city, the Minister of Industry, Máximo Buch, confirmed that "the subsidy granted to the City of Dénia has been revoked as no payment has been made in this regard". It is a subsidy of 400.000 euros from the Valencian Energy Agency to expand the bicycle rental system.
This was denounced Pep Marí, Socialist councilor, whose party already denounced in February that the subsidy could be lost. According to Marí, "neither has the bicycle service been expanded, the non-motorized platforms are a disaster and Dénia lacks traffic regulations for cycle streets."
Jordi Serra, Deputy in Les Corts, meanwhile, demanded the mayor to purge political responsibility for the loss of this grant.
