February 07 from 2024 - 12: 19

In the last Neighborhood Participation Council, held at the Portelles Participation Space on Monday, February 5, the topics of interest presented by the different neighborhood associations of Dénia were discussed. The meeting was attended by representatives of the associations of Baix la Mar, Bassetes, Deveses-Bassot and Defense Beach Norte and Montgó and, on behalf of the Dénia City Council, the mayor, Vicent Grimalt, the Councilor for Citizen Participation, Pepe Doménech and representatives of municipal groups PSPV, Compromís, Party, Gent of Dénia and Vox.

The Federation of Neighborhood Associations has once again expressed its interest in the situation of public transport, both buses and taxis. The mayor informed them that it is planned to have the new bus service for this summer and that six new taxi licenses will be granted, in addition to continuing to reinforce the summer service with vehicles from neighboring towns.

Other topics of interest were the possible solutions to the black spot at the intersection of Diana Street and Avenida del Marquesat, concern about the presence of microplastics on the Dianense coast, the situation of medical care during the hospital reversion process, telephone wiring in poor condition and noise pollution, among others.

The representative of the Deveses-Bassot association expressed her concern about the lack of infrastructure to support the increase in population and homes built, with the impact this has on beaches, parking, etc.; rising temperatures and measures to mitigate it; the conservation of archaeological heritage and specific problems related to works in the Deveses area.

The Councilor for Citizen Participation, for his part, reported on the results of the last edition of the participatory budgets and the status of pending projects. The Montgó neighborhood association asked to return to the territorial nature of the first editions so that their neighborhood is not left without these investments. The city council reported that this model has proven unviable due to the large number of projects that are generated.
