Work begins on the sought-after Santa Llúcia roundabout

November 15 from 2023 - 12: 22

The Pavasal company has begun construction work on a roundabout at the intersection of Assagador de Santa Llúcia and Camí de Merle. This project, with a budget of 211.743 euros and an execution period of 4 months, aims to improve road regulation and safety at this point, where the Camí del Corral de Calafat and the Camí de Santa Llúcia also converge.

The action, which is part of the +Cerca Plan of the Alicante Provincial Council, has a 100% subsidy. In addition to the construction of the roundabout, the project includes the renovation of the public lighting installation, thus seeking a comprehensive improvement of the infrastructure and driving experience in the area.

With this initiative, it is expected to optimize the flow of traffic at the intersection and guarantee safer driving conditions for the users of these roads, contributing to greater efficiency in the local road network.

The roundabout is very nice, but the asphalt in the entire area is unpresentable. It seems unbelievable that with what you pay in taxes, you have to drive avoiding all the cracks and potholes and those responsible do not deign to fix these pavements. Or do you have to wait for external financing? It

Good, and then they can fix the asphalt in Assagador del Pinar, after the campus bar. That has to be the worst street on the entire Costa Blanca.

The ideal would be that you also widen the path that runs along the side of the ravine and that they can circulate in two directions, because that now greatly hinders circulation in the mornings, it is only 200 meters

You're right. There are specific hours, especially when they take the children to school, when there is a lot of traffic and that is a critical point on the outskirts of Dénia.
But since it is complicated because we have to carry out expropriations and build some infrastructure in the ravine, no one takes this issue with determination.
      As usually happens.

Was soll dieser Blödsinn. Viel Geld für einen Kreisverkehr bei dem night nie ein Unfall passierte.

    • Omniway says:

It really is a very uncomfortable crossing and there have always been many neighbors who have asked for this crossing to be normalized. Thanks to the fact that the neighbors are very responsible and given the obvious danger of the intersection, they drive with caution, there have been no serious accidents, but there have been many arguments between drivers due to the traffic jams that occur.
But you are right about one thing, I don't understand why a roundabout there has to cost more than €200.000 and take 4 months to execute.
That seems exaggerated for what is needed.
A little clearing, running some pipes and cables and putting a curb, paving again, would be enough for the demand there is.
I really don't understand why it costs so much. With that money you buy a flat.
