The Conselleria de Sanidad Universal y Salud Pública has issued a resolution by which additional measures are agreed in the municipality of Benigànim for 14 calendar days as a result of the health crisis situation caused by COVID 19 that the town is currently experiencing.
The current epidemiological situation in the municipality of Benigànim, according to the reports issued by the General Directorate of Public Health and Addictions, shows an increase in the spread of the virus in the town, where there has been an exponential increase in the incidence of this disease, much higher than expected (it has gone from a cumulative incidence of 34,24 per 100.000 inhabitants in the week ending August 16, to an incidence of 994,46 in the last 7 days), and there has been loss of traceability of cases.
The Minister of Universal Health and Public Health, Ana Barceló, has indicated that “The increase in cases over the last 7 days demonstrates a significant spread of the virus in Benigànim, and indicates sustained community transmission, making it necessary to adopt these temporary measures in order to curb and mitigate the risk of contagion.”.
“It was a difficult but necessary decision.”, has assured Barceló, who has thanked “I appreciate the ongoing collaboration provided by the city's mayor and I ask for the utmost cooperation from the citizens so that the additional measures adopted will help to regain control of the epidemiological situation as soon as possible.”.
The restrictions come into effect this afternoon and entail the confinement of the municipality, meaning that entry and exit of people are restricted except in several cases: going to the doctor, going to work, returning to one's usual place of residence, caring for elderly, minors or dependents, force majeure or any other similar activity. nature.
The circulation by road and roads that pass or cross the territory of Benigànim will be allowed, as long as they have their origin and destination outside of it.
Likewise, face-to-face educational and training activity is suspended in all centers and levels, including nursery schools.
Furthermore, for the next 14 days, the closure of social centers, casinos, clubs and establishments of a similar nature; day centers for the elderly and other social groups; bars, restaurants and other establishments of leisure of the municipality, unless they provide takeaway or home delivery food services; Gyms and sports centers of all kinds, as well as parks and gardens.
The exceptional measures also contemplate the suppression of sporting events with the public; weddings, baptisms, communions or any other social event with invited people; attendance at places of worship except if they lack public or are funerals.
In the latter case, wakes are limited to 15 people if they are outdoors, and 10 in closed spaces, whether or not they are living together. Participation in the entourage for burial or cremation is restricted to a maximum of 15 people, including family members and close friends as well as, where appropriate, the minister of worship.
