Dénia and Burgos, the only two Spanish cities that have been recognized as Creative Cities of the Gastronomy of UNESCO, have made the first contact to start joint actions that enhance both projects.
The contact was established within the framework of Fitur, the International Tourism Fair held in Madrid, where the mayors of both cities met. The mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, agreed with the mayor of Burgos, Javier Lacalle, to outline the first actions that will define this line of collaboration.
Present at the meeting were the president of the Marina Alta Hospitality and Tourism Entrepreneurs Association (Aehtma), Cristina Sellés, the councilor for Tourism and Culture of Burgos, Fernando Gómez Aguado, the manager of the City of Burgos Strategic Plan association, Mario San Juan, and the president of the Burgos County Council, César Rico Ruiz.
The agreement between the two Spanish Creative Cities Gastronomy carry out concrete cooperation at the level of promotional gastronomic events and in terms of sharing knowledge that serve to support projects in both cities. In addition, this year exchanges of institutional visits will be made between the two populations to find destinations and give rise to the following joint actions.
