17 October 2018 - 09: 13

The City Council of Dénia reported this afternoon to the residents of the streets Pare Pere, Mayor, Plaza Tenor Cortis and Valgamediós of the redevelopment project planned for the area, which will be implemented thanks to a grant from the Diputación de Alicante in 2019.

It was the second meeting with the neighbors after the one held at 2017, where the first project was exhibited. He contemplated that Pare Pere would become a single platform road where cars could drive, but not park, which generated numerous complaints and a notable discomfort among the neighbors.

After that meeting, the City Council remade the project and finally opted to redevelop the road but not prohibit the parking of vehicles. Thus, the Pare Pere street will maintain its current appearance, but renewed. The curbs are recovered to the original height, nonexistent at present, a new pavement will be installed and it will be resurfaced. In addition, the four rainwater that currently exist in the Tenor Cortis plaza will be relocated to improve water evacuation and avoid accumulation during rainy days.

Expansion of the scope of action

The modification of the works to be carried out in Pare Pere allows the project to expand its scope, now covering, in addition to Pare Pere Street, the Tenor Cortis square and the Valgamediós square, the Calle Mayor and Cos de Guardis and Bretxa streets, between the streets Mayor and Loreto.

La Tenor Cortis square will be released from cars, which will not be able to park. Cobblestone or a more noble material will be installed and urban furniture is proposed as benches, bins and planters to recover the square for people.

The works in the Plaza Valgamedios they will consist of freeing the central area of parked vehicles and maintaining the existing traffic circulation.

Meanwhile, in the main Street yes that will prohibit the parking of cars in the entire road, which will be a single platform and will have an image similar to the newly released Sandunga street. The project includes the renovation of the facilities and the intervention in rainwater, as well as the improvement in public lighting. The works will leave the area prepared to bury, in the future, the wiring.

On the other hand, in Bretxa and Cos de Guardia streets they will also become a single platform and parking will be prohibited.

Deadlines

To carry out this project, the City Council has 750.000 euros from the Provincial Council of Alicante, which represents 65% of the total budget. The rest is paid by the municipal coffers. As explained by the mayor of Territory, Maria Josep Ripoll, this month of October the project must be presented. After the tender and award of the works, they are expected to begin in the second half of 2019.

then the citizens park in the cemetery? in double row and in turns? maybe you think you can also put it in the blue zone, it would be a good option not to pay the road tax, you can not park and circulate hard, bravo, that's how you work for the people !!!
