Baleària has commemorated its 25 years of experience with the publication of a book that reviews the journey of the shipping company, from its creation in 1998 to becoming the leading maritime company.
In this book review the objectives achieved by the company and details the figures of the shipping company, which began with four routes, six ships and a staff of 125 people, and which in a quarter of a century has managed to operate 25 routes in six countries, with a fleet of 35 ships and a team of more than 2.500 people.
In these years, 85 ships have sailed under the flag of Baleària, which has transported around 60 million passengers and 87 million linear meters loading.
The history of the shipping company divided into eight chapters, which review the complicated beginnings of the shipping company and the commitment to high speed, which revolutionized maritime communications with the Balearic Islands, and which subsequently gave way to a paradigm shift where sustainability, innovation and the travel experience marked the course that currently guides the company.
In other chapters you can learn about the eExpansion of the shipping company beyond the Balearic Islands, the importance of the ship as a strategic element of the economy, as well as the commitment of Baleària with society and with his team.
"The Baleària's success is a shared success, the result of the effort, commitment and professionalism of the thousands of people who have worked at Baleària over these 25 years,” explains the president of the shipping company, Adolfo Utor.
Likewise, Utor adds that “We would not be where we are without our customers, passengers and shippers, who have given us their trust at all times.” For this reason, the book includes the views of 25 people linked to Baleària, who have made it possible for the shipping company to celebrate its first 25 years of existence in a leadership position. Through his testimonies, a broad and multidisciplinary vision of Baleària is given, from various perspectives.
With a modern and minimalist design, the 176-page book, published in Spanish, Catalan, English and French, has a strong visual component, where the fphotographs of the main ships that have been part of the shipping company's fleet throughout its history. In addition to the 6.000 paper copies, a digitized and interactive version has been made in Spanish, which can be consulted at the end.
With the publication of this book, Baleària puts an end to the actions with which it has celebrated 25 years since its foundation, which began in January with a commemorative event in Fitur.
In June, the company held a popular party at its headquarters in Baleària Port Dénia and presented the documentary A journey of 25 years, which tells its story through experts in the shipping world and first-person testimonies of the company's entire history.
Furthermore, the Baleària Foundation has organized, in different territories where the shipping company operates, the exhibition 25 years Baleària to commemorate the history of the maritime transport company through works by various artists from different parts of the Mediterranean.
