This will be the new (and temporary) bus station in Denia

This week they have started the works of the new bus station of Denia. An infrastructure that is born to be temporary, since José Moncho Ferrer Street, after the courts, is not expected to be its definitive location. Once the General Plan is approved, a new, and already definitive, bus station will be proposed. Although that is still years ahead.

But this step is necessary for two reasons: on the one hand, to end the chaos of travelers that is generated in the Plaza Archiduque Carlos, an area that years ago was small to house the flow of buses with which Dénia today . In the new station, there will be more space for the waiting of the travelers, for the buses and for those who come by car there.

In the plot of José Moncho Ferrer street, two areas will be created, one for parking and bus traffic and the other for users of the station with 8 platforms (platforms 7 and 8 will be used for minibuses) , Waiting areas and a small temporary building with an office for sale of tickets with a warehouse and another one for toilets to serve the users. All this with a budget of 290.704 euros.

In this location there is also an entrance circuit along Ramón Ortega Avenue, Moncho Ferrer Street and around the roundabout; And an exit circuit by Ramón Ortega, Campo Torres and Avenida de Alicante until the exit road of the municipality.

The second motive will benefit the neighbors and merchants of the Plaza Archiduque Carlos, since once the bus station is moved to the new location, the redevelopment works of the square can begin. This project has a budget of 823.000 euros and provides for the elimination of the large roundabout that reigns in the square.

In its place a pedestrian zone will be created and two lanes of circulation will be created that will unite the Avenue of Alicante with the street Paricio Ferrándiz, enabling in the central zone a great gardened square with space for the pedestrians.
