This is how the long-awaited return of the train to Dénia has taken place

November 02 from 2022 - 10: 47

They have had to spend six years to revive this image: a train traveling along the Dénia tracks to the station. It has been the first trip of the new railway era of the city, although the neighbors will have to wait to enjoy it again, since the regular routes will not start until the next few months. Meanwhile, during this week different tests will be carried out to verify that the new routes respond correctly.

This morning there has been a "historic moment", as described by the mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, who was waiting for the arrival of the train at the city station together with the media, members of the City Council and the Regional Minister for Territorial Policy, Public Works and Mobility, Rebeca Torró. «It was not selling smoke. The train is here!” Grimalt celebrated.

Now, the truth is that the service that it stopped providing in 2016 has not yet started, but tests are being carried out this week on the route between Dénia and Gata de Gorgos to check if it responds well. "It is not the day when we can get on the train, but it is very important and expected," the mayor assumed.

The first tests, luckily, are proving to be a success, as reported by Minister Torró. Therefore, it is more than likely that Line 9 of the TRAM will return to Dénia in accordance with the forecasts of the Generalitat: between the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023.

Route one with extra transfer in the Marina Alta

However, the journey will still not be the same as it was six years ago. Until the works of the three remaining bridges between Dénia and Benidorm are completed, a new transfer will be added at Teulda-Moraira. Travelers must change trains at the municipality stop.

Of course, Torró has assured that it will be a direct transfer in which "only one minute" will be lost, since there will be a machine waiting for passengers. It will be done in this way for approximately one year, until the works that have had a value of 150 million euros, most of which are covered by European funds, are completed.

To go by tram to Alacant (or Gandía, which is the project) it's almost worth going by car, in an old-fashioned wagon, you'll arrive just as fast… TRAIN, home, TRAIN with God!, yes It is not Renfe, from the Generalitat, but VIA AMPLA TRAIN!

I have lived for several years on the 5th floor on Av Fuster, in front of the sports pavilion. I have already suffered at least 4 test transits of the “new and modern train”: the noise it produces is really frightening, it is louder than the old train; last night it happened around 2 am: my bed shook, but not from the vibration of the floor but from the infernal noise it produces, highlighted by the nightly silence… if that is progress… The noise level far exceeds the decibel limits allowed by the town hall; it makes much more noise than the “modern” garbage trucks… so now the night concert becomes unbearable; added to the motorcycle races of high and not so high displacement and with the "free" exhausts that also untimely interrupt healthy rest... Mr. Mayor and company: they must be aware that Technological Progress must be accompanied by The Progress of the well-being of the people, and not of their suffering for the benefit of a few...

You couldn't have described it better, they have to be able to put something in to change the ringing noise. I get scared every time I hear it how loud it is. There must be some solution for as many of us affected as we are.

Exactly, a train that communicates with Gandía and thus somehow be able to get to Valencia. Look, there are people who still think that this train is the panacea. After six years they should have made a connection with Valencia or Alicante. It is a shame that a town that boasts of being the most of the most with its gastronomic days and with the port of Balearia that connects in two hours with Ibiza has not been able to connect it through the train. That's not counting the stop they call the bus station, which doesn't have a single establishment where you can have a coffee or a sandwich.

Mr. Mayor goes and says that it was not selling smoke
. After more than 6 years and still waiting.
Before May (municipal elections) I'M SURE THAT SOME TRIP MAKES THE TRAIN. as usual.

  5. Jose Luis says:

It is clear, the elections are coming and we have to demonstrate that our team is the best option to vote, then everything will return to the drawer of the stupid, until four years from now, since they deceive us every day, I believe less in politicians, the bloody train will they have as bait, meanwhile they ensure their salary.

  6. Pere says:

You have to take down the web.

  7. Maite Soler says:

What would be very important and is very necessary, a train from Gandia to Denia.
