Last Sunday was held in Banyoles (Gerona) the European Triathlon Championship Sub 23 and Youth categories. The Girona town has an ideal for Triathlon environment with a large lake surrounding an area full of trees and greenery road beautiful scenery where every year the World Triathlon important tests are repeated.
The competition was a triathlon team relay test that is waiting to be included as an official event at the Olympics. Andrea was involved with the team "B" of the Spanish women, going out in the third relay, each of the three components triathletes triathlon team had to perform supersprint away.
Distances were 350 meter swimming, cycling meters 6.600 1.600 meters travel and running, giving the baton to the next reliever, the last of which extended the route to reach the final goal.
Andrea's team began losing distance with heavy favorites Russia, Britain, France, Austria, Italy ... who had a brilliant start given their level and gave no respite opening a large unbridgeable gap. Andrea received the witness in tenth position he held until the end of the test triathletes threatened by Team "B" Portuguese and Ukranian team that eventually failed to chase the Dianense. The "A" Spanish team came in fifth place also conducting a test.
Dianense triathlete finishes the season with this test and prepares to rest and recover well from the foot injury trailing since February.
Next season Andrea Fernández he renews his scholarship with the Spanish Triathlon Federation and will continue his studies and training at the Infanta Cristina High Performance Center in Murcia, going on to compete in the Junior category where we hope he will follow step by step reaping success and experience.
