Álvaro de María-Tomé was bronze in the Autonomic long-distance

Last Saturday, swimmers from the Dénia Swimming Club, Álvaro de María-Tomé and Arturo Ruiz, traveled to Castellón to participate in the long distance regional championship.

A total of 98 swimmers from 24 swimming clubs gathered at the municipal pool of La Salera, of 50 meters, to compete for the 3000 meters test. The requirement that the Federation requires in order to participate in this test is having swum in some provincial control the free 1500m.

Álvaro, in January, swam in the Alicante town of Petrel with a great time of 21´29 "71 and at the beginning of last March he returned to compete in this test, this time in Elche, managing to stop the chrono in 21´43" 73 For his part Arturo also had good records in the 1500 with a time of 23´41 "87 swimming in Petrel in January.

In the Castellón pool, Álvaro, who came out in the fourth series, crossed the 800m in 11´40 "77, the 1500 in 22´11" 76 and the 3000 in 44´45 "31, time that served to hang the bronze Arturo came out in the third series by swimming the 800m in 13´09 "60, the 1500m in 24´36" 99 and the 3000m in 49´13 "56, being in fourth position.

It is to praise the work done by the two dianenses swimmers in this hard test that, apart from the good physical condition, requires a great mental strength.
