Alert that the Vía Parque provided by the PGE will not solve the traffic problems in Dénia

November 23 from 2017 - 14: 39

This week, the first workshop organized by the Cercle d'Empresaris de la Marina Alta (CEDMA) and the Federation of Neighborhood Associations of Dénia on the General Structural Plan was held at the Marina de Dénia Marina. On the table, five themes: the park road, parallel access to the city, the road to Les Marines, the intermodal station and the industrial estate.

After the presentation and welcome by Benito Mestre, third vice president of CEDMA, and Mario Vidal, president of the local Federation, the architect Alberto Morera was in charge of exposing the main road infrastructures planned in the document, currently on public display. . Later, the attendees were divided into two working groups, whose conclusions were finally read by the agronomist Claudio Riera and the architect Bernd Schocher.

Regarding the Vía Parque, in view of the plans, the conclusion is that it is not resolved as a perimeter road and - in the opinion of the assistants - it does not solve the internal traffic problem of Dénia. Moreover, according to Riera, "it is not economically viable" and to assume the cost of its execution "the land destined for tertiary or residential should be increased". Other points to consider in this way are the problems of flooding of the Plaça Jaume I and the evacuation from the Montgó.

Regarding the parallel access to the Dénia entrance, both groups agreed that it would be better to optimize the existing infrastructures, above all because of the impact of 100 meters wide that the new drawn road would have on agricultural protection land.

The intermodal station generated less controversy, although some problems were highlighted as its possible affection by the PORN Montgó. Nor did he end up liking the proposal around the industrial estate, since it does not contemplate a real extension and does not have a useful road structure for its management.

The solution to the road of Las Marinas as a boulevard - something that is not foreseen in the PGE presented - had broad support, provided that substantial improvements are made so that the Camí de Gandia can absorb more traffic. In this regard, and after the presentation of the conclusions, the vice president of Cedma reminded the attendees that just next Tuesday, November 28, another participatory workshop will be held, also in Marina de Dénia, focused on the solutions to the concrete problems of Les Marines, Les Rotes and Montgó.
