Sacred Heart School

El Colegio Sagrado Corazón – Hermanas Carmelitas de Dénia es uno de los más antiguos de la ciudad. Ubicado en el Camino de Santa Lucía, en pleno Montgó, el centro alberga unas instalaciones recientemente renovadas en las que se imparte clases desde infantil hasta educación secundaria, por lo que los alumnos del colegio Sagrado Corazón pasan el en centro su vida estudiantil hasta los 16 años.

Facilities

El centro está formado por un amplio terreno dividido en dos parcelas: el «Colegio de arriba» y el «Colegio de abajo». En el «Colegio de Abajo» se imparten las clases desde infantil hasta secundaria desde 2011, cuando se inauguró el nuevo edificio en la antigua casa de las monjas.

El nuevo edificio alberga las aulas de 5º y 6º de primaria y 1º, 2º, 3º y 4º de secundaria. Los alumnos más pequeños (infantil y hasta 4º de primaria) asisten a clase en el pabellón de una planta del «Colegio de Abajo».

El «Colegio de Arriba» albergaba hasta 2011 las clases de los alumnos más mayores, así como las habitaciones de lo que en su día fue una residencia de monjas. Actualmente este espacio no alberga actividades escolares.

Faculty

Around fifty professors form the faculty Dénia Sacred Heart College. Professionals specializing in pedagogy in kindergarten, primary and secondary schools are supported by a large team of administrative staff and services.

Studies

Carmelite Sisters school-taught Sacred Heart of Dénia studies from child (3 years) to high school (ESO 4º-16 years). The center does not impart special education among their students, while taking into account any special needs of some students, who reinforced with supports.

Santa Joaquina de Vedruna, patroness school

Each 22 May the Sacred Heart school pays homage to the figure of Santa Joaquina de Vedruna, founder of the Congregation of the Carmelite Sisters of Charity. The center becomes party all day, which is celebrated a Mass attended by all students and continues with music and games for everyone.

Santa Joaquina de Vedruna born in Barcelona in 1783 and lived a life of devotion to God. She married very young and had 9 children.
