More than 300 kg of food for Red Cross in exchange for Spinning and Zumba

Marina El Portet has once again been the promoter of a new solidarity event aimed at collaborating with the Red Cross, where sport has been one of the protagonists. The monitors of Dénia Fitness Center They have taught Spinning and Zumba classes in exchange for donating non-perishable food. In total, 320 kilos of food have been obtained, in addition to donations from Marina El Portet and the numerous neighbors who came last Saturday to participate in the activity, the Brotherhood of Sant Roc from Dénia donated 100 kilos to the NGO in a totally altruistic and disinterested way. The president of this religious and festive entity, Paco Catalá actively participated in the classes.

There were many neighbors who contributed their grain of sand to help the Red Cross. In addition, they sweated the shirt, had fun and exercised body and mind.

The director of Marina El Portet, Luis Mira has indicated that “This type of activity, on the one hand, gives visibility to solidarity and necessary projects, and on the other it contributes to being a participatory center, where visitors have enjoyed the music at our facilities and with monitors that have made them spend a good time exercising ”.

Along the same lines have been the statements of the manager of the Dénia Fitness Center, Sebas Otero, who taught the Spinning class to the participants. “I think we have done a good job, devising a solidarity activity that combines sport, so we are satisfied with the response of citizens”, said Otero.

The Red Cross volunteers who were collecting donations throughout the morning have thanked the work of everyone involved in the initiative.

Cleaning seabed

In the capital of the Marina Alta, the activity will take place on October 6 from 9 am. It is intended to give a breather with a cleaning of beaches and funds and the concentration will end around 14.30 pm.

In the last concentration, held in June, volunteers extracted more than 20 kilos of litter from the coast.
