May 26 from 2019 - 12: 01

The election day of the 26 of May has started normally in the 25 Dénia polling stations, which are called to vote 28.777 neighbors throughout the day.

The candidates for mayor have exercised their right to vote in the early hours of the day, where according to the representatives of some polling stations has seen a lower participation than in general and regional elections last month. However, the official participation data will be known throughout the day.

The early riser has been Sergio Benito (Citizens), who before the 9: 00 in the morning already queued at La Pedrera to vote. There he has also voted Rafa Carrió (Compromís) accompanied by his wife. Minutes later he was the current mayor, Vicent Grimalt (PSPV-PSOE), who exercised his vote in the Santa Lucia Residence.

At the same time, Felix Redondo (Vox) and Alex Rodernkirchen (Podemos) voted in their respective schools. So did the candidates of Esquerra Unida (Jovana Balaguer) and Ara Dénia (Patricia Miñana). The last candidate to vote has been María Mut (PP), which he did at 11:00 in the morning at the Sant Vicent Ferrer school in Les Rotes.

Citizens' banners in front of an electoral college

The only incident registered is the complaint against the Ciudadanos party for two large banners installed in front of the Llebeig school, ignoring the ban on the absence of electoral propaganda less than 100 meters from an electoral college.

From the party they alleged that it is an advertisement hired to a company and they were looking for a way to cover both posters. For the rest, the Electoral Board of the Zone has not registered any incident in the 49 electoral tables installed in Dénia.

The day is expected to be long, since once the schools close, at the 20: 00 hours, the count of the European Parliament ballots will begin. Once the recount ends, the votes will begin to count to the Dénia mayor's office.

From Dénia.com we will make a special follow-up to the electoral night from the close of the schools.
