February 05 from 2021 - 10: 19

Sanitat has made public the latest coronavirus data that have been registered since Tuesday through PCR tests carried out in the different health departments. These once again bring bad news to the Marina Alta region, as the number of positive deaths from COVID-19 shoots up.

In total there have been 25 new deaths reported in today's update, Friday, one of the highest records since data is available. The death rate of the Dénia health department, on which the entire region depends, is certainly not high compared to neighboring departments. However, since the pandemic began, 136 deaths who tested positive in PCR have already been reported. Of these last 25, 8 belong to Benissa, 5 to Calp, 4 to Dénia, 2 to Orba, 2 to Pego, and there is one case in El Verger, Pedreguer and Teulada.

In this way, the forecast of the Ministry of Health is sadly fulfilled, which predicted that during the coming weeks the number of new infections would fall while that of deaths and hospital pressure would increase.
