Neighbors of Les Rotes have been unable to exercise "their right to public information" since November 2022, they point out, since the Dénia City Council does not provide them with the information in the file that authorizes the placement of the controversial iron tower of more than of 30 meters against which they have been fighting since it was raised a few months ago. Not finding another way to access said documentation and assuming it as an intolerable lack of transparency, they have decided to take the case before the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency and the Sindic de Greuges.
all part of the placement of this gigantic, unfortunately for the neighbors, tower on a private plot near the main road of Les Rotes where a telephone antenna will be placed to provide coverage to the place. The residents have been demanding that it be removed ever since for all the damage it causes, both landscape and health. The main problem they have encountered is the lack of collaboration from the administration.
During the ward meeting that took place a few weeks ago, the topic was hotly discussed for an hour, with the presence of the Councilor for Town Planning, Maria Josep Ripoll, and the mayor himself, Vicent Grimalt. The neighbors thought that at that appointment they would be provided with the file that they have been claiming for a long time without any response. When they did not reach any solution, Grimalt himself summoned them for a private meeting where, as they came to indicate in one of the City Council's interventions, they could see the file. It was the first time that the meeting was proposed, the following ones only talked about that they would continue talking about the case and collect the documentation. But that first time they even promised that they would see the file.
This week, finally, the meeting has taken place. However, to the surprise of the residents' representatives, they have not had access to the aforementioned file.
According to the residents, this construction with a base of 1.8x1.8m and a height of 30m to house telephone antennas in the Les Rotes area, located on a private plot, is presumably incompatible urban planning in an urban area of single-family homes close to the Montgó Natural Park .
"Given the repeated and obstinate opacity of the Dénia City Council in providing the information in said file", they inform this newspaper, they will go to the Sindic de Greuges as well as to the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency, denouncing the lack of transparency of the consistory.
