Unanimity in Dénia so that the city has an intermodal station of the Train of the Coast

24 December 2019 - 13: 11

The City of Dénia held, on Monday night, December 23, the Ordinary Municipal Plenary corresponding to the month of December. The plenary had a controversial point. It was item 7 of the agenda in which the allegations to the informative study of the Valencia-Alicante railway line, Tren de la Costa, Gandia-Oliva-Dénia section were treated. A section that obtained the approval of all political parties but that its position was totally contradictory to that exposed by CEDMA (Cercle Empresari of the Marina Alta) in which they propose that the terminal be located in Ondara and that of other groups in the region.

To reaffirm their decision, the spokesmen of each political formation read a joint institutional declaration in favor of the train and in which they explain their reasons why Dénia should have this station. Vicent Grimalt, mayor of Dénia, put into context the situation of the Train of the Coast, from Gent de Dénia, Mario Vidal, read that the station must be located in Dénia by the volume of passengers and territorial vertebration. Susana Mut de Ciudadanos, mentioned Dénia's connection with the Balearic Islands and the large number of tourists that congregates during the summer, as well as the line with Alicante.

From the popular ranks, Maria Mut, said that it is feasible and the figures of the study of the University of Alicante do not match those of the Ministry. Rafa Carrió de Compromís maintained that in Dénia one already existed and that it is not incompatible to be in Dénia with others in other populations.

To finalize the institutional declaration, from the PSPV, Maria Josep Ripoll, indicated that the controversy between different groups and the lack of consensus does not help in the fight for this infrastructure.
