A rescued tortoise wounded in Burriana waters returns to the sea in Dénia

Dénia lives immersed these days in the celebration of the Environment Week, with a complete program that has been prepared from the department directed by Josep Crespo. Coinciding with the celebration, this Thursday, of World Oceans Day, the beach of Dénia has witnessed the return to the sea of ​​three wounded turtles in different parts of the Valencian Community.

The first of these has been Sant Pere 327, A specimen of Tortoise Boba or caretta caretta Which was rescued in Burriana waters. After a time of recovery in the Arca del Mar of the Oceanogràfic of Valencia, Sant Pere 327 has been able to return to the Mediterranean. This has been explained by the volunteers of the Oceanogràfic who throughout the morning have received boys and girls from different schools in Dénia on the Punta del Raset beach, where the release has been carried out.

In addition to seeing how turtles returned to their natural habitat, the youngest have first-hand knowledge of the dangers faced by these mammals, such as plastic bags or fishing nets.
