A cover of La Xerna del Mar de Dénia, chosen the best in the entire Valencian Community

The regional secretary of Tourism, Francesc Colomer, has attended, together with the president of the Confederation of Hospitality Entrepreneurs of the Valencian Community (Conhostur), Manuel Espinar, at the final of the 'Best Tapa Contest of the Valencian Community 2022' in the Center of Tourism (CdT) of Valencia.

Six finalist teams have participated in this final (chef and DJ each of them). The winner will participate in a promotional action that will take place in Zurich on June 14 before international agents.

The first winner of the Contest was the La Xerna del Mar restaurant in Dénia with its 'Dénia i bleda red shrimp donut'. The second was the restaurant La Carrasca in Culla (Castellón) with the cover 'Che! Quin churro!', and the tapa 'La Cordà de Paterna' from the Casa Toni restaurant in Paterna (València) came in third place.

During the awards ceremony, Francesc Colomer stressed that "the cover is a great cover letter, where territory, creativity, design and product come together" and stressed that "this sector must continue to be a fundamental pillar of this tourist territory ".

For his part, Manuel Espinar pointed out that "after two very bad years due to the pandemic, now is the time to take off", and thanked the collaboration of Turisme Comunitat Valenciana with the sector.
