A motorist loses an arm in an accident on the Les Marines highway
Tragic accident that occurred this afternoon at kilometer 8 of the Les Marines de Dénia road, right at the Girona River Bridge. At around 16:30 p.m., a motorcyclist, for unknown reasons, came off the curve and hit the guardrail, causing him to have a complete amputation of an arm.
The crash has caused the man to fall off the motorcycle, but it has continued to run, circulating without a driver, exploding some 25 meters ahead, according to what witnesses to the accident have informed this media.
The man has suffered various serious injuries to the rest of the body. A neighbor who has observed the event has indicated that the limb has been collected by an off-duty nurse and has quickly put it on ice, in the hope that it can be reimplanted.
The Civil Guard, Local Police, SAMU and Firefighters have come to the scene of the accident. The paramedics have treated the motorcyclist on the spot, but shortly after the Emergency helicopter has arrived, which has parked on the same bridge to take the injured person to the hospital.
Firefighters have cleaned the area where the motorcycle exploded of fuel. Circulation through this vial has been cut off for more than two hours.
