After almost two months of hiatus, the 'Suma Rowing League' resumes in Dénia
La "VIII Regatta SUMA League of Fixed Bank Rowing of the Mediterranean" arrives this Sunday, 8 of April, to Dénia after almost two months of break. A total of 69 llaüts They will launch into the sea to compete in the penultimate race of the season. A test where a lot of tension and rivalry is expected between the participating teams. This regatta is organized by the Club Rem Marina de Dénia.
The inclement weather, present throughout the season, has made it difficult to carry out the last scheduled competitions in the league, hence the rowers welcome Sunday's appointment with more enthusiasm than expected. The competition is running out and the teams feel they still have a lot to prove. For that reason, Sunday is expected to be a true exhibition of good rowing.
The race course will be arranged in the sea area parallel to the Paseo de Marina and Turístico de la Marina de Dénia. For this reason, and as in the open sea competitions, the sea conditions will also play a determining role in the results of the competition since it will be necessary to take into account the meteorological factor to fix any type of strategy.
Veterans will open the competition
The male veteran category will be responsible for opening the competition to the 9 hours and after it will be the turn for the veterans as well as for the categories of children and cadets, who will face 700 meters away with a tack. The next ones to compete will be the juveniles and later the turn will be for the absolute categories. Both categories will fight for the medals in a distance of 1400 meters with three tacks.
The results of the table are maintained from the race disputed in waters of Gandia. In this way, the veteran categories of Rem Dénia, play at home with the motivation that they are two of the favorite teams. In the case of the boys, their leadership will give them more strength if it fits for the competition on Sunday. As for the girls, playing at home will be an advantage to try to snatch the position from the current leaders, the Benidorm girls.
In the absolute categories, the Real Club de Regatas de Alicante teams occupy the first positions, it will be necessary to see if on Sunday they increase their advantage or if the rival teams manage to face them.
Regarding the cadets and youth teams, there is still a lack of data to be able to make a real prediction of the situation of the boats, which is why the Dénia competition marks a turning point in the direction of the same towards the end of season.
