The City Council of Dénia has announced the construction of a crosswalk that allows students to come to the CEIP Pou de la Muntanya playground. It is one of the measures carried out to normalize the first trimester, during which the students will occupy a provisional center until the completion of the works of their school.
The CEIP Pou de la Muntanya starts the course in the building of the former Official School of Languages, on the corner of Joan Fuster Avenue and Pedreguer Street. It does so while the works are finished in its center, which are scheduled to end in December.
Among the many changes to adapt to, the biggest headache was where to have recess and how to get the kids there. The result? The Joan Fuster pavilion, located a few meters away, will host 300 students. Now, this implies crossing the wide 4-lane avenue, which, as it is now proposed, forces them to cross 5 zebra crossings until they reach their destination.
For this reason, Vicent Grimalt has announced the creation of a temporary pedestrian crossing in front of the entrance to the center, to facilitate supervised movement and avoid what he considers to be «un recorrido peligroso». He has taken the opportunity to thank Railways, which have not put any problem, since this temporary step will invade the road.
