Neighborhood meetings are announced with which to encourage contact between councilors and neighbors
The City Council of Dénia has announced the beginning of the calendar of neighborhood meetings. They will start next week and in each of them a councilor will be present to listen to the proposals of the neighbors and report on how each project progresses.
"We maintain the commitment to this formula for participation and contact with citizens", said the mayor, Vicent Grimalt, at the press conference convened this noon on that occasion. The mayor emphasizes that the intention of these meetings is to foster contact with the councilors for proximity and transparency. "We want people to feel involved with the neighborhood and the City Hall".
However, Grimalt, who has promised to attend as many meetings as the agenda allows, has recalled that these appointments are not only to hear the complaints of the attendees, but that "goes beyond". One of the main objectives of these is to report on how the approved projects are being developed within the Citizen Participation budget. He has also taken the opportunity to announce that those belonging to the 2019 exercise and that have not yet been carried out, will be finalized during the remainder of the year.
Pepe Doménech, councilor of that area, has confessed that attendance at meetings in some neighborhoods is not very high, but they still think that it is the most appropriate form of "inspire confidence in citizens". In addition, remember that the deadline to present the projects of each neighborhood will remain open during the month of October and that this tool, the meetings, can be used for this purpose.
Neighborhood Meeting Calendar
- Les Roques: It will be held on the first Tuesday of each month in Les Portelles at 20: 30 with the presence of Councilor Paco Roselló.
- Rotes: The first Tuesday of each month will be held at the old Sant Vicent Ferrer school at 20: 00 with the presence of Councilwoman Mélani Ivars.
- Port-Center: It will be held on the first Wednesday of each month in Les Portelles at 20: 00 with the presence of Councilor Javier Scotto and Councilwoman Alexandra Gertrúdix.
- Montgó: It will be held on the first Monday of each month in Les Portelles at 20: 00 with the presence of Councilor Raúl García de la Reina.
- Baix la Mar-Darrere del Castell: It will be held the first Monday of each month in Llunàtics at 20: 00 with the presence of Councilwoman Cristina Morera.
- Oest-Campaments: It will be held on the second Tuesday of each month in Les Portelles at 20: 00 with the presence of Councilwoman Mª Josep Ripoll.
- saladar: It will be held on the second Thursday of each month at the Social Center at 20: 00 with the presence of Councilwoman Elisabet Cardona.
- Les Marines: It will be held on the second Monday of each month in Llunàtics at 20: 00 with the presence of councilwoman Maite Pérez Conejero.
- Paris-Camp Roig: The third Thursday of each month will be held at the House of Culture at 20: 00 with the presence of Councilor Pepe Doménech.
- The Faroleta-Diana: It will be held on the third Thursday of each month at the Social Center at 20: 00 with the presence of Councilor Óscar Mengual.
