Sánchez: «We are bending the curve but the incidence is still far from the objective»
The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, appeared on Sunday afternoon and explained, among various issues, the vaccination plan against COVID-19 and the objective to take into account in the upcoming Christmas holidays.
The President of the Central Government pointed out that this Christmas will be different, «el Consejo Interterritorial del Sistema Nacional de Salud está trabajando ya en una planificación específica de cara a estas Navidades, que van a ser diferentes». «La situación epidemiológica va a ser distinta en los distintos territorios. Pero yo sí que creo que es necesario, y es lo que le vamos a pedir a los consejeros de Sanidad, que elaboremos unas recomendaciones comunes»confirmed the president.
Sánchez indicated that the curve is bending with the decree of the new State of Alarm, although the figures are still far from the target set, «con la cogobernanza hemos llegado a una incidencia acumulada por debajo de los 400 en 14 días, pero el objetivo, para que esté controlado, es que sea de 25 casos por 100.000 habitantes».
The COVID-19 vaccine
Pedro Sánchez indicated in his appearance that, tomorrow, Tuesday, the vaccination plan against Covid-19 that has been proposed to be launched in January will be presented to the Council of Ministers and will have 13.000 vaccination points. «El Gobierno garantizará que todos los grupos priorizados tengan acceso a la vacuna. Para ello, se acordará en el Consejo Interterritorial del Sistema Nacional de Salud una estrategia única de vacunación. Una parte muy sustancial de la población podrá ser vacunada con todas las garantías en el primer semestre del año», assured the President of the Government.
