The evaluation committee of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, made up of member cities, has already issued the report on the work developed during the first four years by the Dénia Creative City of Gastronomy. The rating for this task is "VERY GOOD", after analyzing compliance with the objectives set in the city's action plan and adaptation to the global objectives of the network.

This note means to revalidate, for four more years, the recognition of UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, a piece of news for which the Mayor and Councilor for Tourism, Vicent Grimalt, wanted to congratulate "to all the people and groups that have been involved with great dedication and enthusiasm since the beginning of the project: Floren Terrades and the entire team of the Office of Innovation and Creativity; Aehtma and all the business community of the world of restoration of the city; the Dénia Ciudad Creativa Foundation; Pepa Font, as the first delegate councilor of the Creative City; Quique Dacosta and Pep Romany, for having helped us turn the D * NA into a benchmark; and Pepa Cardona and all the staff of the Office of Tourism. And, of course, to thank the unconditional support to Turismo GVA and, personally, to Francesc Colomer, the regional secretary of Tourism, a great ambassador of this project ".

Dénia stands out as "EXCELLENT" for the synergies created between the City Council, the university, the institutions and the private sector to make the Creative City great. The promotion and preservation of local traditions in the field of gastronomy and production is also noted as a strength, "with an impressive program of activities that focus on this topic".

Another point that deserves a mention in the report is the development of the Gasterra center, dedicated to the study and promotion of Mediterranean gastronomy, which aspires to become an R&D benchmark. In general, Dénia's effort in integrating the Creative City project into the educational field is a highly valued aspect. And the adaptation of the project to the sustainable development goals of the 2030 Agenda, the SDGs, is also highlighted.

The D * NA gastronomic festival is also one of the initiatives highly valued by the committee as an excellent platform for promoting the city to the world.

The quality of the new action plan for the next four years also exceeds with a very good note the review of the Creative Cities Network, which it understands that it also includes coherent and relevant proposals for the general objectives of the network.
