Quique Dacosta joins the Mountain Day

11 September 2013 - 00: 00

In order to create a creative commitment to enhance traditional mountain products, the 21 Local Agenda Denia will present at the Fourth Summit of the Mountain Partnership United Nations a project whereby alliance partners put contact to famous chefs from around the world to work with local mountain ingredients, organize together an event and raise funds to develop agricultural projects FAO.

For this initiative Dénia has had the support of the three Michelin star chef Quique Dacosta, who in a promotional video invites the members of the summit to "jointly develop a creative bet to promote these traditional mountain products", ensuring that there are products "that have disappeared or are about to do so and that we must try to recover and preserve, because they give us food, culture and history."

Present at the video presentation were the mayor of Dénia, Ana Kringe, the councilor for Local Agenda 21, Vicente Chelet and the vice president of the Consell, José Císcar. The latter highlighted the importance of Dénia being the only European city member of this alliance and congratulated the council for the initiative and for highlighting the Montgó de la Amno de Quique Dacosta.

Since December 2012, Denia is a full member of the Alliance of Mountains FAO, the only European city member of this coalition. From that moment you are entitled to present at the next Summit of the Mountain Partnership proposal recovery and promotion of traditional mountain agricultural products promoted by the Local Agenda 21.
