Portal de la Marina delivers to the Hospital of Dénia the funds collected by "Solidarity Kilometers"
The purpose of paint a planetarium in the Pediatric area of the Hospital de Dénia is very close to being fulfilled. This noon there was the act of donation of the funds raised by the initiative "Solidarity Kilometers", carried out by the Portal de la Marina Shopping Center. The representatives of the Hospital, Natalia Casado, Director of Nursing of the Department of Health of Dénia and Alicia Ventura, Director of the cuidArt Project, have collected the symbolic check from the hands of Virginia Carrasco, director of the Shopping Center.
According to Virginia Carrasco, "Kilometres Solidarios" was so successful that they achieved in six days what had been set as a one-month challenge. This initiative launched by Portal de la Marina, invited participants to add kilometers in the application Strava to paint a planetarium in the pediatric area of the Hospital de Dénia. Hundreds of athletes joined the challenge adding more than 10.000 kilometers. According to the representatives of the Hospital, it is expected to begin work to paint the ceilings around January 18. In total, 10 of the 16 Pediatric rooms will be painted, plus an ophthalmology consultation, "with the aim of humanizing the hospital, making the stay more pleasant for children and even relaxing them when performing a medical test" .
