August 03 from 2012 - 00: 00

The councilor of the PSPV-PSOE Dénia, Pep Marí, took a position yesterday against the way of applying the new Tables and Chairs Ordinance approved in the last Ordinary Plenary Session. For the councilor, an ordinance for the occupation of public roads must value both the benefit and right to occupy the premises, as well as the right of citizens to be able to walk through those streets. Regarding this topic, he presented several examples of non-compliance with the new regulations, such as the Baix la Mar neighborhood or the exit from the Castillo Tunnel. "In Baix la Mar there is no way that there is room for them to play children, [...] outside the tunnel you can not have tripods and this morning I have seen with my own eyes", Mari counted.

As for the wine bars, the mayor explained that the position of PSPV-PSOE Dénia not against these premises. Thus disagree, adds Marí, it is that a smaller establishment pull tables and chairs because they have a license for catering activities. Allowing them to do so, they are promoting unfair competition from businesses that hoteliers themselves paying for that permission.

On the other hand, Marí spoke of the council's negligence in the maintenance of some beaches in Dénia. The PSPV councilor presented various complaints from residents of the municipality about the cleaning and care of some areas of our coast. Marí indicated that from Els Molins al'Estanyó the taps do not work to clean the feet, the wooden walkways are dirty and the trash cans are full. In addition, he denounced the lack of a lifeguard on almost three kilometers of beach and a profound abandonment of Les Rotes. Regarding the latter, the councilor added that in the ravine near the Troyas area there is a very significant amount of algae accumulated, which produces a fatal smell, and a dead palm tree trunk about which he joked and said: "I hope that this palm tree grows and that it becomes an oasis". Marí stressed that the beaches are the true economic engine of Denia and must be looked after very much. To this he added: "Less photos and more work", referring to the different acts related to the beaches carried out this year by the city council of Dianense.
