The stand of the Baleària shipping company in Fitur has been the scene this Wednesday afternoon of a first work meeting between the municipalities of Dénia and Eivissa to start a collaboration with the objective of promoting both municipalities tourism. The shipping company, meanwhile, will be the link that will allow such joint actions. In this first contact, the mayors of both municipalities, Vicent Grimalt, from Dénia, and Rafa Ruiz, from Eivissa, together with the president of Baleària, Adolfo Utor, participated.
On the one hand, training and visits will be made for tourist informants from both cities, who will learn the most important of the other city. On the other hand, gastronomic, cultural or sports initiatives will be promoted to encourage tourists to visit both Eivissa and Dénia. And, it should be remembered that both locations are part of the international networks of UNESCO. In fact, the Valencian municipality is the Creative City of Gastronomy and the Balearic town is a World Heritage Site.
The role of Baleària will be fundamental, since for more than 20 years it has been the only way of direct connection between both locations. The company will be responsible for transporting people who participate in activities on both sides of the Mediterranean Sea.
