Another year without Nit de Sant Joan: the coronavirus forces the beach celebration to be extended for another year

The next night of Sant Joan, the Dianenses beaches will be empty again. Or that is the intention of the City Council. Despite current data on the incidence of the pandemic and how advanced vaccination is, the council prefers to be cautious and not rush, avoiding possible outbreaks of coronavirus.

Celebration of the Nit de Sant Joan in Dénia

Dénia will not celebrate the Nit de Sant Joan for the second consecutive year due to the pandemic. The police will once again patrol the beaches of the entire Dianense coastline to prevent this event from causing a major outbreak of COVID, thus avoiding its celebration.

To this end, the consistory prepares a new special security device to ensure compliance and that the beach is kept without bonfires once again.
