The worst has not come: the new coronavirus infections are doubled in the Marina Alta and the incidence of Dénia shoots up to more than 1.300

January 19 from 2021 - 09: 37

We have been saying it for days, with each update the records of the Marina Alta and Dénia of coronavirus infections are worse. This is again demonstrated by the new update that, far from reflecting that we have already overcome the worst, it puts us on the ground to make us aware that there is a long battle ahead. Perhaps the worst of the pandemic.

The Marina Alta returns to break records of infections since Friday, reporting 807 new cases although the sum of the records of all municipalities increases this figure to 822 (so far the highest record in this regard was last January 12 with 700 new infections added). The 1.863 active cases leave the region with an incidence of 1.084'77 infections per 100.000 inhabitants. A riot. Taking into account that since March 5.946 have been added, the severity of the new upward curve can be appreciated.

In addition, if these figures are not already unbearable, we once again register 7 new deaths with coronavirus, adding to the 82 since the start of the pandemic. Of these new deaths, 2 belong to El Verger, 2 to Calp, 1 to Ondara, 1 to Xàbia and 1 to Benissa.

Dénia once again exceeds the alarming 2 hundred new infections, adding 229 new infections to its total. A situation no longer dangerous, but dangerous that leaves the regional capital with an excessive incidence of 1.356'54, something unheard of to date that places it as one of the cities in all of Spain that has been worst bearing the pandemic in recent weeks.

Since March Dénia has added 2.098 infections, 572 of these, a quarter, still active today.

By municipalities, the one that adds the most after Dénia is Benissa with 132, followed by Xàbia with 105. The records of most municipalities in the region are also worrying, leaving this last update in this way: Calp records 86 new cases, Teulada 67, Pego 55, Orba 35, Pedreguer 25, El Verger 24, Ondara 23, Gata 15, Benitatxell 8, Beniarbeig 5, Xaló 4, Els Poblets 3, Parcent 2, and Murla, Benidoleig, l'Atzubia, and Vall d 'Alcalà one case each.
